How Does Type 2 Diabetes Differ from Type 1 Diabetes?

Type 2 diabetes is most commonly diagnosed in adults. Under the age of 20, about one in 400 children have type 2 diabetes (although this number is rising); more than one in four adults aged 65 or over have the condition (ADA, 2011).
